CBS_Moderator: There are tons of great questions, so let's get started!! If you're just joining us, we're chatting live with Kimmi Kappenberg. To ask Kimmi a question, please type it in the space below and click "Ask the Survivor." We'll get to as many of your questions as we can. Here we go!!!
Kimmi Kappenberg: Hello, it's Kimmi! I'm here... all cleaned up!
Jig: Were you surprised about the voting? Do you think they misled you about voting Jeff out?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No, I figured my head was on the chopping block. The only reason I was voting for Jeff was because one other person said they were voting for him. But in my heart, I knew I was going home.
survivor3: Kimmi, were you glad at all to be leaving the outback, and what was the first thing you did once you left the island?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I was happy that I was going to get voted out and that I got voted out when it was pouring rain. The weather was horrible. After I got back to civilization, I ate and cleaned up. And then I packed my bags and went on a tour through Australia.

snowy: Do you regret anything you said or done then? Like not eating the cow for the competition?
david: If you had the chance what would you have done different to keep you on the outback longer?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I have no regrets, whatsoever. I would never eat a cow brain. I wouldn't change anything, and I had to be true to myself.
david: Do you keep in contact with other survivors?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Yes I do! I either emailed or talked on the phone, or snail- mailed people. And I've seen Jeff, Kel and Mitch.
survivor3: Kimmi, are you enjoying all of the media attention?
katbliss: Instant fame, is it scary, exciting, crazy, or all of the above?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I'm acquiring a taste for all the media attention. It's an adjustment period. My instant fame is a bit overwhelming, but I'm still the same person. It's just weird that people are so curious about my life.
YOUWISH73: What was the deal with you and Alicia?
Kimmi Kappenberg: We just didn't play well together. We had a disagreement about the chickens. I thought the chickens shouldn't be killed on consecutive days. The chickens were laying eggs, and I thought it would be better to keep the hens around to keep continuous protein. And she didn't see it that way.

JeffWillWin: Have you and Alicia reconciled?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Alicia and I have not talked. But I'm sure we would be civil to each other. It's still a game out there.
Canadian: Kimmi...I admire that you stuck to your morals regarding your vegetarian beliefs, but do you think that future Survivor contestants shouldn't be vegetarian, given the conflict that it caused with the tribe?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Not at all! Because if I was on Ogakor, there would have never been a conflict. I figured it was more helpful to my tribemates to have 6 people eating chicken, instead of 7.
razzy_21: Kimmi, having seen the past episodes, how do you feel about the way your former tribemates talked about you behind you back?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I think a lot of what is said behind each other's back is just what they were feeling at the time. I didn't take any of it personally, because I know how much stuff gets edited out.
spiritwind: How do you feel about how you were portrayed? Was it accurate?
Kimmi Kappenberg: It was accurate in showing one side of my personality. I think they showed my stance on vegetarianism as an extreme. A lot of it gets edited on the cutting room floor. But my strong personality definitely showed.
reine: Do you think the producers felt that your vegetarian beliefs would cause conflict and therefore make better television?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Absolutely! A hunter, a pig, and a vegetarian... what better conflict is there?

luka: What was the toughest thing about being there?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Dealing with the personalities of my tribemates. These are people that have different lifestyles and beliefs. And they are not people I would get to meet in my daily life.
Quidgey2: Kimmi...I Love Strong women...will you marry me?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I'm not getting married for a while! But thanks for the offer!
fly: What kind of wildlife did you get to see and was any of it "contained" in any way so as not to harm the tribes?
Kimmi Kappenberg: The wildlife ran wild! You had kangaroos, wallaroos, wallabies, flying squirrels, bats, the spiders (which are venomous...most of them), the snakes, and I saw a crocodile!
grubbybear: Did your luxury item get used at all? Who was the best Scrabble player?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Actually, we did not play Scrabble. We used the tile holders as our eating utensils.
david: Was there any sexual tension between u and another tribe member?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No, not at all. Nothing that exciting!
S2_Addict: Kimmi, did you ever find a place to masturbate while u were there?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No, I did not! Very disappointing, huh?

Jakice04: Who did you bond with the most?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I got along with Rodger and Jeff. And Mike and I got along. I didn't form an alliance, but made some friendships.
david: Who was your favorite castaway and why?
Kimmi Kappenberg: While I was out there, I guess being there Rodger was probably my favorite. He was comforting. Everybody else was blatantly playing games.
paulhogan: Why didn't you form an alliance? Didn't you realize from S1 that it was VERY important to survival?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I really didn't trust anyone when we first got there. Some people formed an alliance the first day, but I didn't really know who I could trust.
leo22: What advice would you give someone applying for the next episode of Survivor?
Kimmi Kappenberg: When you're applying, just be yourself. Because it's a long time to keep up the charade.
david: What was your motivation for being on the show?
david: Do you watch yourself on TV and did you watch Survivor 1?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I wanted to prove to myself that I could do anything I wanted to. It definitely wasn't the money. I was a big fan of Survivor I. And I watched all the episodes in this series, too.

UDFlyers1: Kimmi, with me being an Elisabeth fan, how did you feel about her during the show? Will you keep in touch with her?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I speak to Elisabeth. Elisabeth and I got along out there, also.
UDFlyers1: Can you describe what tribe life was like with Michael? He comes across as extreme on TV.
Kimmi Kappenberg: He definitely has an extreme personality. He just believes in different things than I do. Michael likes to be the "king of the castle."
Nova_Scotian: Are you glad you were in the Kucha tribe or would you rather have been in Ogakor?
Kimmi Kappenberg: If I was in the other tribe, the pigs and chicken would have never been an issue.
The_Rattlesnake: Kimmi...is it true you stunk up the joint or were Mike and the guys just being nasty?
Kimmi Kappenberg: There was dirt on my shoulders and I guess I was dirty in the Outback. But my job that day was moving firewood and Mike was just fishing in the water. So I was getting very dirty and Mike wasn't. And then Mike was cleaning the pig guts out by where we were bathing. So I moved into a different spot.
gilson: Jeff seems like he could be a mean gossip. Is that true or is he nice?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I like Jeff! Editing plays a big role as to how each of us is perceived.

UDFlyers1: What did you do in your audition tape to catch the Producers' eye?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I did a lot of things in my tape. I held a sign that said "Australia or Bust" and walked down the road in a bikini. I talked about myself. I dressed up in overalls and in pigtails to show another side of my personality. I was just myself, no acting, and that's the best advice.
trudes: What do you hope your experience on Survivor will lead to? Do you plan to continue working in the entertainment industry?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Ultimately, I would like to get a job working with wildlife or environmental documentaries or TV shows. I have a degree in journalism and have some broadcasting experience. That's where I would like to go.
Northland_Survivor_Contestant: How far away was the tribal council? How long of a walk? And how far was the other tribe's camp from your camp?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I think the other camp was about 5 miles away from us. And Tribal Council was a couple of hours or a three-hour walk. It was far, far away. There really weren't that many structured parameters; you're just too tired to wander far anyways.
orangesleeves: How long does it take to walk to tribal council? How far of a distance are you allowed away from camp to roam?
Captain: Losing the last challenge seemed tough for the Kucha tribe. Did you feel it was unfair because of the higher number of members in Ogakor?
Kimmi Kappenberg: It was absolutely unfair. It's a lot easier to get 5 people in a group to move harmoniously than seven. And for the challenge that week, we only had 5 members on the team to participate. So they should have stuck with that.

Esti: What do you think you contributed to your tribe?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I gave them bigger portions of food. And I boiled water! I was a team player.
camie: I read that PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wants you as a spokeswoman...is that something you would consider?
Kimmi Kappenberg: It's definitely something I would consider. It's something I really believe in. I wouldn't go radical, but I would be supportive.
SilverWolf: Kimmi, did the producers tell you what clothes to bring? Did you get a choice?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Yes. The producers did a wardrobe selection and we were very limited in what we could bring: One pair of shorts, a bathing suit, a pair of pants, etc...
Michael38: Do you think all the pig and fish guts thrown in the water attracted snakes and crocodiles??
gail: Were you scared to go swimming because of crocs?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I absolutely think that the guts attracted wildlife! And yes, that's part of the reason why I didn't go in the water in that area.
S2_Addict: Kimmi, what was the first thing you ate when you got home?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I ate tons of stuff! When I left tribal council, the very first thing was a Twix candy bar. On the way home, I ate the Twix bar, a peanut butter sandwich, a carrot and bean sprout sandwich, a bag of a Doritos, trail mix, and a coke! I got so full in the first sitting!

fly: What were the limitations on what you could bring as luxury items?
Kimmi Kappenberg: We had to give a list of 10 items, and CBS and the producers selected them. They couldn't be any survival items.
Nova_Scotian: Was the killing of kangaroos off limits?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Yes, the kangaroos were off limits.
Kimmi Kappenberg: Mostly the only thing we could eat were fish and there were a limited amount of fish we could eat all day. And the pigs…those were the only animals.
danihorse: Did you meet the Crocodile Hunter?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I wish I did, but no! I love him!
survivingchick: did you see any other interesting animals?
Kimmi Kappenberg: The kangaroos were pretty interesting, right there!
LiLAngel666: How much weight did you lose while you were there?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I fattened up before I went there, so I probably only lost 6 pounds.
david: Has your life changed drastically since you have been on the show?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Right now it's just busier, 'cuz I've been voted off. It's pretty much the same. I go to work, and have the same responsibilities. It's just a little weird to be noticed.

RainydayMK: I know there are physical requirements to being accepted to go...were they that difficult to meet?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I don't even know if there are physical requirements. I have no idea. It never came up as an issue, so I have no idea.
michelle22canada: Did you think that the show was going to be as physically demanding as it was? It seemed that the heat especially took its toll on some teammates.
Kimmi Kappenberg: I knew it would be physically challenging. It was as physical as I had expected. squerb: Did you ever feel like you were in any danger during your stay?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I was very cautious... I don't know. I never I felt I was in danger, but I was in a dangerous environment.
kimbosix: How cold was it at night there?
Kimmi Kappenberg: It would get down to about 50 at night, and about 110 during the day. So, very extreme weather conditions.
Insane_Shark: Kimmi - How do they pick who's on what tribe? Is it random, or do they carefully predetermine it?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I think they predetermined it. That's why they put the vegetarian with the hunter together-- it makes for good drama!
KimmisMyDreamWoman: What did you think of the host Jeff Probst?
Kimmi Kappenberg: A lot nicer than I thought! Apparently, when I watched the first season, I didn't think too highly of him. But shows you what editing does.

Aliciasux: What do you think of the whole Kel beef jerky episode?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I think it was a completely ridiculous accusation! We had just shy of a body cavity search before we got out there.
WannaBe: What did you use for toilet paper? Did you have any privacy?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No privacy... cameras would watch you squatting. For toilet paper we used tampons…both for the men and the women.
SuRvIvOr_FaN_007: Did you ever get so hungry that you were tempted to steal and eat a piece of chicken or pig, secretly?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Never. No, there was rice.
SweetAngel16: Kimmi, if you could change one thing about the island and your time there what would it be and why?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I guess I would have formed an alliance, so I could have lasted out there longer.
I_Love_to_watch_Survivor: Were you shocked when you got voted out?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No, I wasn't shocked. I was expecting it, just because of the group dynamics at that time.
Quidgey2: If given the opportunity to go on another Survivor, would you and what would be your strategy? Edmonton, Canada Loves you
Kimmi Kappenberg: That's very sweet! I would definitely do it again. My strategy would be to form an alliance early on to gain someone's trust. But I would still have to be true to myself.

DOC: It has been suggested that the stronger survivors were voted off early to level the playing field for the weaker players. I fail to see how that particular voting strategy applied to either you or Mitch. Would you care to comment?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Strength isn't always just physical; it's also mental. I was perceived as a threat by Alicia and Jeff, because they thought I had an alliance with Mike. I won the chickens, for crying out loud.
DTCutting: Kimmi, did you find it hard to watch yourself on TV?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No, not at all! I found it very funny and entertaining. Sometimes embarrassing, but those moments are brief.
Fjord: Were you upset that Roger voted against you?
Kimmi Kappenberg: No, because it was self-preservation for him.
katbliss: Did you ever feel like you were acting?
Kimmi Kappenberg: Never. You're too tired, hot and hungry to act 24 hours a day.
IluvColby: Kimmy, do you feel the tribe owed you something because you won the chickens???
Kimmi Kappenberg: No. Maybe a little respect. But no, they didn't owe me anything. We were a team; we had to work together.

bluerocket: What was the most embarrassing moment for you?
Locke_Scythe: What is the wildest thing you did on the island?
Kimmi Kappenberg: The most embarrassing was when I was doing one of my island interviews and had to leave to go to the bathroom. And the wildest thing was…jumping off the cliff was probably the wildest. Nothing else was really that wild.
Wooster: How much do you know of what goes on with the other tribe? When do you find out who was voted off?
Kimmi Kappenberg: We find out at the next Reward Challenge; the next challenge we see each other is the next time that we know. You have no interaction with the other tribe except for the challenges.
gg: What was the highlight of your trip down under?
Shayla: What was your favorite memory of your time on Survivor?
Kimmi Kappenberg: I guess a lot of the time we spent together in harmony that was edited out. That was a great time that night when we were laying at the beach and looking at the stars and just talked. And after I got voted off, I got to travel all around Australia.
BaconBits: Kimmi is it back to bartending for you?
Futuresurvivor: What are your future plans?
KimmisMyDreamWoman: Where do you hope to be in 5 years
Kimmi Kappenberg: Yes, I've been bartending, but I'm also working with the same production company that I've been working with for 2 years. 5 years? Hopefully, I'll be doing something in journalism.
