307: VICTORY IS SWEET...(PT.1)

Missions:
8: Swamp Buggy Racing
    Gator Relay :
Each team member will participate in this relay race.
Two cast members from opposing teams will go heat to head against each other in a jeep.
The teams will each have a companion - a giant blow up alligator.
A cast member from each team will be called to the starting line.
At the sound of the whistle the two drivers will begin the relay.
The jeeps will circle the course once and then back to the pit area.
Two jeeps will be on stand-by waiting for the alligator hand-off.
The team members will pass the alligators to their awaiting team member's jeep.
The second jeep will circle the course once and tag the alligator off to the third jeep.
The three jeeps per team will be rotated so each jeep will be used twice.
The team that completes the relay first will win the event.
This event is worth 25 points.

    Swamp Fishing:
Each team member will participate in this event with their pre-determined partners.
One team member will drive, the other will go fishing.
The object of the event is to collect as many rubber duckies, frogs & bugs with a fishing net in a single round.
The driver can not stop or reverse the vehicle at any time and the vehicle can only circle the course once.
During the round, the passenger must use their net to collect as many floating items as they can in a single round.
The passenger or driver can not get out of their vehicle.

    The Blindfolded Drag Race:
Each team member will participate in this event.
The teams will be instructed to pair up with their partner.
Each pair will be handed a blindfold.
The casts will be told that all of the drivers must wear a blindfold during the race and rely solely on the passenger for guidance in maneuvering their swamp buggy to the finish line.
At the sound of the whistle two buggies will go head to head.
The first jeep to cross the finish line wins that round and 25 points for their team.

What Deanna had to say about the episode:
This weeks mission, Swamp Buggy Racing. Driving Jeeps is the first event. David starts trippin' because Heather B can't drive a stick shift. We then see Amaya in the background gagging. You know near death. Amaya claims she is sick from some shrimp she ate the night before.
Apparently Amaya is always fine until it is mission time and then she is practically dying. Maybe she is a genius. Plotting to get the most air time on the show. She said it herself "I'm all about the drama". Amaya could be playing us all. David is totally in competitive mode. He is acting like a drill sergeant. David should be getting on my nerves because he is acting like such a jerk, but I welcome his rude behavior. Finally the attention is on someone other than Amaya. Don't get me wrong Amaya’s whining is still getting plenty of air time. But, David is the bad boy and I like it.
The Road Rules team wins the Jeep race. Easily. The next competition is the Alligator Relay. Real World bombs. Amaya can't even get her jeep started. She was basically the reason her team lost this race. The Road Rules just breezed through the Alligator Relay like it was the most natural thing in the world. The next thing you know Amaya is trying to give David a pep talk. David completely cusses her out. Go David.
The Blindfolded Race is the third and final event. The driver is blindfolded and the passenger verbally guides the driver through the course. David and Kat drive for The Real World. Yes and Holly are the Road Rules drivers. Road Rules wins the first heat and David tells the race officals "It's Over!". David won't even allow his team to race in the final two heats outraging half his team. Well, ok just Heather B. But she acts like half the team. Road Rules wins the mission and the 10,000 E trade dollars.
In the end David apologises to his entire team and accepts responsibility for the loss of the mission. Which I think is pretty cool. I admire someone who dosn't make excuses. The Real World decides they need a plan of action. So David steals the Road Rules horns. Kind of like when Samson got his hair cut and lost his power. We shall see if Road Rules loses their power! Until next week.

What Bunim/Murray had to say about the episode:
Friendships are being cemented as the Challenge-mates enter into the third week of their trip. Dan and Holly have grown especially close, but Dan is remaining loyal to his girlfriend at home. Luckily, Holly has a new mission to keep her mind off of her unrequited love. The Challenge 2000 is hitting Vero Beach, where the teams will go head to head in a series of swamp buggy races. Drama shadows Amaya who complains of food poisoning before the start of the mission. Tired of losing, David is particularly fired up, demanding that his teammates perform. With a few shed tears, Amaya agrees to compete. The first event is not a rousing success for the Worlders. However, they're not out just yet. They can still make up points on the "swamp fishing" round. Unfortunately, David disregards the rules of the race and is disqualified. Once again, Team RW falls behind. By the time the final blindfolded race begins, the Real Worlders are knee-deep in defeat. There is no way they can win, but Heather urges her teammates to finish the competition with dignity. Much to her dismay, the Worlders opt to bow out, their pride shattered. Some of the Challenge-mates attend a Sister Hazel concert that night and perform with the band, but most of the Worlders are noticeably missing. The next day, David realizes that his competitive spirit can sometimes be overbearing, and he apologizes to his team. With mischief on his mind, he sneaks out the Rulers' bus and steals the RR horns - hoping to send some luck into the RW camp.
