REAL WORLD / ROAD RULES AQUA GAMES 1998

Missions:
KICK REAL WORLD’S BUTT.

My comments:
The groups seemed to get along fairly well too bad that it was so cold.
It really does stink that Road Rules won the most events but Real World still won the money.

What MTV had to say about the episode:

It's late afternoon at Pier 70, when the phone rings. It's Piggy. She tells the cast they are being challenged to The Real World/Road Rules Aqua Games Competition. Soon after the cast finds themselves in wet suits. The location: Lake Washington, Seattle. The Climate: a frosty 50 degrees and rainy. The water: cold enough to make your entire... eh, lets not discuss that, we'll just say "raisin-like" and leave it at that. Mark and Kit, from Road Rules 1, are hosting the Aqua Games Competition, both apparently vying for positions on the game show circuit. They explain that the kids will be competing for $3,000. Kit represents for the Road Rulers while Mark keeps it real for the Real World.
The kids from both casts meet. They exchange pleasantries, hugs, and later, kicks to the head! In the first event, the Raft-O-Rama, the teams quickly piece together their sleek and able galleons. Yeah right. Nathan remarks, "just watching their design, any person... would know it's not going to work." The Road Rulers first attempt at a raft is amazing, it shows promise at first, but ends up going down quicker than a Presidential intern. The Real World raft shows some thought, yet buckles as skipper Stephen slides off into the cold water- thanks little buddy. The frustration leads both teams to cheat and thus, no points awarded. Shayne is upset at the ruling, he says he's gonna bust some heads, but he's also experiencing some "shrinkage" from the cold water - looks like the only head that's busted is his own.
Next event is Dueling Tubes. It's Rebecca the "sacrificial lamb" and Kefla up first. They blast off out onto the lake, behind a high speed boat. They bump and crash their tubes together, but Rebecca lasts only seconds as the southern gentleman Kefla, kicks her in the head and sends her into the frigid water below. Next, David and Shayne battle on the open water. Their paths cross, their tubes get tied and David sends Shayne into the icy abyss, for more "shrinkage." Those damn raisins.
At the next event, The Blind Folded Canoe. Chad and Susie, David and Lindsay slip into their blacked out Speedos. No, not those, the eye goggles. The teams paddle out, retrieving inflatable animals, guided only by their teammates yelling from shore. The race is tight, until Lindsay and David hit and iceberg, or bad luck, I'm not sure which, but they pull a Titanic and sink.
The next event is Extreme Fishing. Teams of three on jet skis, head out onto the lake, manned with a net, to retrieve silver and golden inflatable sharks floating on the surface. Nathan warns his teammates, "don't lean." The teams compete steadily during the three hour tour, gathering their sharks when disaster strikes, the Real World team spills again, Iceberg? Too much leaning? Raisins? Apparently the Real World team has turned on their vacuums and started to suck, but can they rally?
Next event: The Zip Off: High wires. Low rings. Need points? Get 'em here. Piggy heads out on the line first, but gets stuck immediately. The casts watch anxiously as our precious Piglet hangs precariously over the dock. Luckily, she swings herself clear of the dock and drops into the water safely. Next, Nathan has the chance to tie the Roadies. He heads down the zip line, and drops into the 2-point circle, sending them to the final event.
During the final event, the Beach Bungee Bull Ride, Stephen remarks that hopefully, "Our sexually repressed women will ride that bull like it's no other." Chad and Susie end up with a time to beat of 11.4 seconds. Lindsay says her strategy is just squeeze, "pretend it's someone you love." She hangs on for 5.22 seconds. It's up to Nathan again. With his bare back style, sporting boxers and pasty white thighs, he conquers the bull. Nathan's loins reign supreme as the RW cast takes the title, beating the RR combined time and grasping the trophy in a triumphant win.
